Healthy Happy Habits ~ Keeping it simple

Author: Cydney Mar

Have you ever been frustrated because its too darn hard to figure it out ? Too many options, too many ideas, too much change? I have and that's the reason I'm pulling my hair out.

I just want to keep it simple.

Healthy Happy should be all about simple. I wanted to offer a range of supplements that were fabulously effective and simple to introduce into your lives. Life can be so darn busy, and we all want to make healthy choices and commitments we can actually keep. Uff !! How to squeeze it all in ? How to make sure everyone is happy, that I somehow attended to all those endless check lists of To-Do's ?

Healthy happy habits should be simple.

On cooking ~ My father used to say, Cyd, cooking needs to be 3 colours. That was his directive. Point final. How simple is that ? It meant choosing a white such as rice, a cauliflower, a potato or a bread ( guess what ? these are all starchy ) Pick a green. Broccoli, green beans, zucchini ? How about a red ? Tomato, red pepper ? Add a source of protein and not only did my meals end up being miraculously balanced, but they looked pretty, and it was simple, easy and complete.

On beauty ~ My mother was big fan of using a face cloth, and still to this day, I keep a tiered stack of freshly laundered facecloths by my sink. I use  simple 2% salicylic acid soap, and a Cetaphil lotion that is a mixed w a light antibiotic formulated by my Dermatologist ( who would fire me if I spent too much time in the sun and I pretty much had to agree to use an SPF or go find another Dr... He's tough, but its simple. )

On practices ~ I'm kind to myself, and I hold space for my spiritual practices everyday. It makes my heart happy and content, it keeps me in alignment and grounded. I focus on love and gratitude, and asking for daily guidance. I focus on my preferences and I am aware of my energy. I have a no nonsense policy on bad energy... if I experience it, I clean it up as I am 100% responsible for it and feeling good is a healthy choice.

Sometimes doing one less thing is a choice we can make, and that keeps things simple, doable, and it can be the healthy choice. Is there something you can do to simplify your life ? To help you stick to habits that you want to maintain ? Someone once said to me, "  We can be Super Women, just not all at once "

Let's chose simple , easy and complete. It's  healthy happy choice.

Much love to you,

Cydney

What a great post Cydney! I am all for keeping it simple!! Life can be easy and full of grace if that’s what we choose, it’s all a matter of choice!

Great post, Cyd! There’s such wisdom and freedom in simplicity. Your parents gave you a beautiful gift with their straightforward guidance. And I love your daily practices – simple and life-affirming.

Oh, and “I am 100% responsible for it and feeling good is a healthy choice.” >> YES!

Now I’m off to see what my “one less thing” will be — the idea feels very freeing.

    Big hug!
