Self Care is Self Love ~ What to Do After Back to School ~

Now that all the kids are back in school, vacations are over and all the packing and unpacking is done, is it any wonder that we feel pooped ? We've organized, shopped, bought, returned, checked schedules, counted heads and hoped we didn't leave anyone behind. 

The lazy days of Summer turned into the Back To School rush and phew ! Now it is over. Did your diet get all mixed up ? meals off schedule? forget to take your precious vitamins ? work out program get put on hold ? A-ha ~ 

Time for Self-Care again, to repair the wear and tear of making sure your family is all good and to make sure that you are in good shape to take care of them, be it your mother, your loved partner, your child. Ever wonder why on the airplanes the flight attendants say during the safety routine " Please put your mask on FIRST " Why ? Because you can't take care of anyone unless you take care of yourself first.  

Let's take a moment. Let's breathe. Let's consider holding a wee bit of space for the things that will keep us well that will ultimately benefit everyone. How about organizing your vitamins once  a week ? I love doing that as I personally don't have the patience to sort them each day.  All my lovely vitamins are in a tray together, easy to pull out, and sort into my wee spice dishes. I make 7 and set them stacked beside my coffee cups.  I pour myself my lemon water, make coffee and breakfast and away I go. For travel days my vitamins are popped into my ziplock bags. Done. I put one in my purse if I need it for an overnight flight in the morning. The rest go into my suitcase. 

I make the time for an Epsom Salt lavender essential oil detox bath to relax my muscles and to remove any toxins and alkalinize my body with baking soda. I happen to LOVE bubble baths so of course, I add the fun bubbles too !

I actually map out my week so everyone, including myself, gets quality time, and somehow it works, from my exercise time to reading to making sure delicious meals get on the table. Days are full, and scheduling somehow holds space for all what I know I need to include into my week. 

Taking care of yourself is really loving act towards yourself. It prevents you from falling ill or going into burnout and having to deal with plain old over doing it. You'll be happier and so will everyone else.
